Entry from: Hoi An, Vietnam Entry Title: "Hoi An - Tailor-Made For Tourists" Entry: "We took the SinhCafe Open Tour bus from Hue to Hoi An - it was an easy journey with lots to see along the way -- rice paddies for as far as the eye could see, backed by hills on one side, and estuaries and the sea on the other. It was very picturesque, with small villages, and bicycles everywhere. We got the pleasure of making two brief tourist stops along the way -- one at the beach, and one at Marble Mountain. It was just enough time to decide neither were interesting enough to make a trip back to from Hoi An. We arrived in Hoi An about noon. Hoi An is another Unesco world heritage site, which means the 15th to 19th century trading port with its chinese-influenced architecture will be preserved for a long time to come, rather than replaced or built up with tacky and not descript 21st century buildings and store fronts. Hoi An seems to move at a slower pace. In the old part of town, motorbikes are "banned" and the streets are reserved for bicycles and pedestrians. But apparently the rules aren't enforced, and unfortunately motorbikes still whiz down the streets honking at everything and everybody in their path.
